What Daddy Issues Is

This is bigger than blaming our parents.

Daddy Issues is a healing centered community education experience built around the conversations families often avoid.

Through dramatized composite stories, licensed clinical interpretation, facilitated conversation, reflection, practical tools and community resources, we explore how the way we were parented may influence how we show up as adults, partners, parents and family members.

The goal is not to stay stuck in childhood. The goal is to understand what happened, take responsibility for what happens next and create healthier patterns moving forward.

What It Is Not

We want to be clear.

  • Daddy Issues is not psychotherapy.
  • It is not a clinical diagnosis.
  • It is not a blame your father event.
  • It is not only for women.
  • It is not only for people whose fathers were absent.
  • It is not about staying permanently angry at our parents.
What You Will Experience

Story. Understanding. Conversation. Tools.

Daddy Issues uses multiple ways of learning because meaningful family conversations do not happen through lectures alone.

01

Dramatized Stories

Composite stories bring recognizable family patterns to life without turning one person's private experience into entertainment.

02

Clinical Interpretation

Licensed professionals help provide educational context around family patterns, behavior, communication and emotional dynamics.

03

Facilitated Conversation

The room explores parenting, adult children, relationships, accountability and what families may need to do differently.

04

Reflection

Attendees have space to consider what they recognize, what they learned and what may need attention in their own lives.

05

Practical Tools

The conversation moves toward healthier communication, accountability, boundaries, parenting and practical next steps.

06

Community Resources

Attendees leave with resources and information that can support continued learning after the event.

Who This Is For

You do not need the same story to belong in this room.

You may recognize yourself as the child, the parent, the partner or sometimes all three.

Adults reflecting on how they were parented
Parents who want to show up differently
Mothers and fathers
Men and women
Co parents navigating family relationships
Adults recognizing patterns they want to change
People whose parents were present but emotionally unavailable
People whose family story does not fit a simple label
The 2026 Conversation

We cannot change how we were raised. We can change what we repeat.

Some people grew up with fathers who were absent. Some had parents who were physically present but emotionally unavailable.

Some were raised by loving adults who were carrying wounds they never had the language, support or tools to address.

And some of us eventually became parents and recognized places where we repeated the very things we once promised ourselves we would never repeat.

Daddy Issues creates room for compassion and accountability to exist at the same time.

“Healing how we were parented, and how we parent.” The work is not only understanding the past. It is deciding what the next generation experiences because we were willing to look at it.

Perspective Greater understanding of how family experiences can carry into adulthood.
Accountability Space to examine what belongs to the past and what belongs to us now.
Practical Next Steps Ideas, tools and resources that can continue after the event.

Frequently Asked Questions

Before you come into the room.

Is Daddy Issues therapy?

No. Daddy Issues is a healing centered community education experience. It may include licensed clinical interpretation and discussion of emotional or family patterns, but attending does not create a therapist client relationship and the event is not psychotherapy.

Is Daddy Issues only for women?

No. Daddy Issues is designed for men and women, parents and adult children, fathers and mothers, partners, co parents and people who recognize family patterns they want to understand differently.

What if my father was present in my life?

Physical presence is only one part of a relationship. Some attendees may have experienced absence. Others may be examining communication, emotional connection, conflict, expectations or family patterns inside homes where parents were physically present.

Is the event only about fathers?

No. The title opens the conversation, but the experience explores broader family patterns, parenting, adult relationships, accountability and what we pass from one generation to another.

Can parents attend with adult children?

Yes. Families may choose to attend together. No attendee is required to participate in a public family conversation or disclose personal experiences.

Will I have to share personal information publicly?

No. You may participate in the experience without publicly sharing private information. Participation should remain within your own comfort level.

Are clinicians involved?

Clinical professionals may provide educational interpretation and context during portions of the experience. They are not diagnosing attendees or providing individualized therapy from the stage.
